Channel 7 News interviewed attorney Patrick Barone for a report regarding the son of the mayor of Dearborn, Michigan and his arrest for drunk driving.
Reporters asked Mr. Barone to review police video, which suspiciously did not include any footage of the suspect taking field sobriety tests or being moved from his vehicle to the police car for transport. Audio recordings of the encounter were also inconsistent and seemed to exclude much of the incident.
According to the report, the mayor’s son was transported and released to a local hospital instead of the police precinct, which would typically be standard procedure.
“By them not taking him back to the station and housing him, meaning putting him in a jail cell until the next morning, they put the public in danger,” Mr. Barone said.
